    INGREDIENTS IN THIS DISH:

    500g of Pasta (cooked as per packet directions)
    30g of Butter
    4 Cloves of Minced Garlic (about 3-4 teaspoons)
    1 1/2 Cups of Cream (about 400ml)
    Salt and Pepper
    1/2 Cup of Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese
    2 Teaspoons of Freshly Chopped Parsley (plus extra to garnish)

    Preparation Time: About 5 minutes
    Cooking Time: About 15 minutes

    SERVES 4 – 6

    ALL MEASUREMENTS GIVEN ARE AUSTRALIAN STANDARD METRIC

    Try them as your main meal, snack or even as a starter. Having soup prior to a meal has been proven to prevent you from overeating later on.

    Tips:
    – Buy Goji Berries from Oriental supermarkets instead of ‘health stores’. They will cost a lot less!
    – If you are a vegetarian or vegan, you can change the chicken stocks to vegetable stocks and omit any meat in the recipe.
    – Zucchini is also known as Courgette or Japanese Cucumber in Asia.
    – You can choose to make your own chicken stock or buy chicken stock cube that does not contain MSG or high sodium level (check the food label)!

    So be wise and make the right choices for your body and your healthy this season. Choose to indulge in Soups! =D

    Apple Cookies:
    1 Apple
    Any Nut Blend
    Almond Butter (Trader Joe’s has an amazing almond butter, but the Justin’s one is the only one I had at the moment)

    Oats & Dried Fruit Bars:
    3 Cups Old Fashioned Oats
    1/4 Cup Almonds
    Few Dashes of Ground Cinnamon
    1 Cup Unsweetened Applesauce

    1/2 Cup Dried Cranberries
    1/2 Cup Almond Milk
    2 Tbsp Agave
    1 Tsp Vanilla
    Preheat Oven to 350
    Mix all Dry ingredients together, then add the wet ingredients
    Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, then pour your mix over and spread evenly
    Bake for about 20 minutes or until golden brown

    Rice Cake & Fruit Bites:
    Mini Rice Cakes (I love the Caramel Corn ones)
    Almond Butter
    Variety of Fruit
    __________________________________________________________________________
    No Bake Granola Bites:
    1/2 Cup Almond Butter
    1/3 Cup Honey
    1 Tbsp Agave

    1 Cup Old Fashioned Oats
    1/2 Cup Rice Krispies
    1/2 Cup Mini Dark Chocolate Chips
    1/2 Cup Golden Raisins
    Few Dashes of Cinnamon

    Add the almond butter, honey, and coconut oil to microwaveable bowl and heat for 30 seconds.
    Mix the remaining dry ingredients in large bowl and add the wet mixture slowly. Take the mix and form them into balls with your hands, then place in the refrigerator to harden for about 1 hour. (not necessary to place in fridge though, you can eat them right away, they’ll just be a lot softer)

    HOWITZERS

    Ingredients

    1-1/4 cups butter, melted
    1 package (16 ounces, 18-inches x 14-inches sheet size) frozen phyllo dough, thawed
    1/2 cups cranberry jelly
    6 pieces bacon, fried until crisp
    8 ounces Laughing Cow Cheese triangles cut into four portions.
    1/4 cup finely diced jalapeno pepper

    Directions

    Take an individual phyllo sheet and brush it generously with melted butter (Keep remaining phyllo covered with waxed paper to avoid drying out.)
    Using a sharp knife measure into three by three inch squares and place the squares butter side down into a 24 count mini muffin tin. Cut each slice of crisped bacon into 4 equal pieces and place one into each phyllo cup.
    Top with a cube of cheese, 1/8 of a tsp of finely diced jalapeno pepper, and a 1/2 tsp of cranberry sauce.
    Fold over to form a bundle and brush with more melted butter.
    You can freeze these on the tray at this point and then, once frozen, remove to a freezer bag.
    Bake at 400° for 10 minutes if defrosted, or 20 minutes if frozen or until golden brown. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
    Yield: 24
    Enjoy!

    CHICKEN TENDER RECIPE

    2 lbs. chicken tenders or chicken breast cut into strips
    2 cups buttermilk
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    2 teaspoons salt
    1 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
    3 eggs
    2-4 cup panko crumbs
    1/2 cup vegetable oil

    Marinate chicken in buttermilk overnight in refrigerator.

    Add flour into shallow dish…set aside.

    Beat eggs in a shallow dish with salt and pepper. Set aside.

    Add panko crumbs to shallow dish…set aside.

    Drain chicken strips from buttermilk. Add chicken strips, one at a time, to flour and coat well. Dip floured chicken strips into egg mixture coating well. Roll floured, egg dipped chicken strips into panko crumbs until well coat.

    Add oil to large skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken tenders in heated oil. Fry on each side for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove cooked chicken tenders and drain on cooling rack.

    You have to try this recipe out! This bread is so healthy packed full of fibre, which helps to CURB HUNGER. I would recommend 2 slices for breakfast for a healthy weight maintenance or weight loss. This bread keeps me satisfied till lunch!

    In every slice, you are getting your vegetable, fruit, complex carbs and protein. Bread doesn’t get healthier and more delicious than this. So try this out, make it on “Zucchini Bread Day” this Friday and share your bread picture with me on Instagram or Facebook.

    NOTE (This recipe can be adapted for anyone):
    – Zucchini is also know as Courgette. In Asia, you may also use Japanese Cucumber, which is very similar to zucchini.

    – You may replace the Rye flour to any other flour of your choice: whole-wheat flour, coconut flour etc

    – If you are a Vegan, you can replace the eggs with 1/2 cup of dairy-free yoghurt or silken tofu.

    – As for the milk, any milk of your choice: dairy milk, almond milk, soya milk, rice milk etc.

    Ebi Furai (Deep Fried Prawn) is Japanese-invented Western-style deep fried dish, such as Tonkatsu.

    It is a very popular deep fried main dish in Japan as well as Japanese restaurants worldwide.

    Perfect for Bento box as well 🙂

    Ebi Furai (Deep Fried Prawn)

    Difficulty: Easy
    Time: 15min
    Number of servings: 6 pieces

    Ingredients:
    6 large black tiger prawn
    salt and cracked black pepper
    Batter
    * flour
    * beaten egg
    * Panko (bread crumbs)
    vegetable oil for frying
    Bull-Dog Tonkatsu sauce if preferred
    lemon wedge
    shredded cabbage and tomatoes
    Tartar Sauce
    * 1 chopped hard-boiled egg
    * 2 tbsp. minced onion
    * 1 chopped dill pickles
    * 3 tbsp. mayonnaise
    * salt and pepper

    Directions:
    1. Wash, peel (leave the tails) and devein the prawn. Make 4-5 incisions (about 1/3 depth) in their stomach side to straighten them. Then cut off the tip of the tail and remove the water inside to avoid splatters when frying.
    2. Season with salt and pepper. Flour the prawn lightly, dip in beaten egg, then coat with Panko. Use one hand for coating flour and Panko, and use the other to dip in egg to keep one of your hands dry.
    3. Deep fry them in oil at 170C (340F) for 2-3 min until cooked golden brown. Remove them from the oil and drain.
    4. Serve on plate with shredded cabbage and tomatoes. Eat with lemon juice, tartar sauce and/or Tonkatsu sauce. Anyway you like ;D

    the batter is enough to make more than 6! 8 or 10 is good 🙂

    Easy Simple Indian Snack Bhakarwadi Recipe – By Vahchef @ vahrehvah.com

    Bhakarwadi is a traditional spicy maharastrian snack recipe which requires effort but can be stored for weeks and enjoyed with evening tea. The flour based round discs are stuffed with roasted poppy seeds, steamed and then finally deep fried to a crispy finish.

    Basen (chick pea flour) 2 cups
    Whole wheat flour 1 cup
    Hing pinch
    Turmeric pinch
    Salt
    1 ½ tb
    Cumin seeds 1 ts
    Pepper corns ½ ts
    Sesame seeds 1 ts
    Coriander seeds 1 ts
    Fennel seeds 1 ts
    Poppy seeds 1 ts
    Sugar ½ ts
    Coconut 1 ts
    Amchur powder ½ ts
    Oil for deep fry

    Take a bowl add basen flour, wheat flour, oil, hing, turmeric, salt, chilly powder; crumble the mixture before adding water. Take basen mixture add water mix it like a stiff dough, rest it for 10 minutes.

    Take blender, in this add fennel seeds, cumin seeds, pepper corns, coriander seeds, sesame seeds, poppy seeds, sugar, hing, chilly powder, coconut, blend all together make a coarse powder, this powder take it into a bowl add salt, amchur powder, add some basen mixture, mix it well.
    Roll the dough into thin sheet and spread the masala on top and roll the dough in to tight and seal the edg by applying water and rest it for 3 to 4 minutes, then cut them into roundels and deep fry them.

    5 Pounds (80 Ounces) Chicken Breasts
    1/2 Cup (4 Ounces) Fat Free Italian Dressing
    3 Tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar “With The Mother”
    12 Ounces (340g) Hickory & Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce
    1 Medium Yellow Onion (Chopped)
    1/2 Teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper

    Calories in the WHOLE recipe:

    Calories: 3402
    Fat: 18g
    Saturated Fat: 0g
    Sodium: 4042mg
    Carbs: 187g
    Fiber: 2g
    Sugar: 159g
    Protein: 623g

    Calories per serving (if you make 10):

    Calories: 340.2
    Fat: 1.8g
    Saturated Fat: 0g

    Carbs: 18.7g

    Take out your Chicken Breasts, trim the fat off of them, and then cut them in half. Chop up your Yellow Onion. Combine all of your ingredients into your slow cooker. Mix everything together. Cook on High Heat for 3 hours. Shred your Chicken Breasts. Cook on High Heat for another 1 hour. Enjoy!
