    BETH’S HAM & CHEESE PINWHEELS
    Makes 12 pieces

    INGREDIENTS:
    1 sheet store-bought puff pastry
    2 tbsp (30 ml) sweet and spicy mustard (or Dijon or honey mustard works well too)
    7-8 slices of deli ham
    ½ cup (60 g) of grated Asiago Cheese
    1 tbsp of dried basil

    METHOD:
    Preheat oven to 425F (218 C).

    Roll out puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Spread entire surface with mustard. Lay ham in a single layer on top covering the entire surface of the sheet. Sprinkle cheese on top of the ham, covering the entire surface. Sprinkle basil on top of the cheese.

    Starting at one end, roll the pastry and its contents, into a neat log. Transfer to parchment paper (or wax paper), seal the ends and refrigerate until ready to serve.

    Remove log from the paper, slice into ½ inch (13 mm) slices, place on a parchment lined cookie sheet and bake for 13 mins.

    Serve with a glass of your favorite champagne! Enjoy!

This is the easy brine recipe I use, and the processing for delicious home grown dill pickles. Throw in some fresh garlic cloves and dill for not only a great taste, but an awesome look as well. These pickles are ready to eat the day after canning, however, larger cucumbers have thicker skin and will need to sit on the shelf in the jar for a month or so to soften up a bit. Enjoy

    Here is the recipe:
    1 pkg. Devil’s food cake mix
    1 2/3 cups water
    3 eggs
    1/3 cup canola oil
    2 cups cold 2% milk
    1 pkg. (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
    2 cups (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
    1. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, water, eggs and oil; beat on low speed for 30 seconds. Beat on medium for 2 minutes. Transfer to a greased 4 qt. slow cooker.
    2. In another bowl, whisk milk and pudding mix for 2 minutes or until soft-set. Spoon over cake batter; sprinkle with chocolate chips. Cover and cook on high for 3 hours or until a toothpick inserted in cake portion comes out with moist crumbs. Serve warm.
    Everyone who tries this dessert falls in love with it. Using a slow cooker liner makes cleanup a breeze.

    Recipe:

    3lb chuck roast
    1 envelope Zesty Italian salad dressing mix
    12 oz pepperoncini pepper slices + splash of juice (plus extra for serving)
    12 oz Giardiniera (Chicago-Style Italian Sandwich Mix,) drained (plus extra for serving)
    14.5oz can beef broth
    Provolone cheese slices
    Buns

    Put all items (aside from cheese and buns) inside crockpot. Cook on low for 8 hours. Shred beef using two forks. Serve on hoagie buns with provolone cheese! Enjoy!

    Looking for something new for the appetizer tray? These little tartlets will impress your guests. Pillsbury’s Lauren Chattman shows how to make them.

    Appetizer recipes: How to make onion tartlet appetizers

    1. Heat oven to 375°F.

    2. Unroll dough into 1 large rectangle. Cut dough into 12 squares.

    3. Gently press squares into 12 ungreased mini muffin cups, shaping edges to form rims 1/4 inch high.

    4. Spoon cheese evenly into dough-lined cups. Top each with onions and pimientos.

    5. In small bowl, beat egg and whipping cream with wire whisk until blended. Spoon scant 1 tablespoon mixture into each cup. This is what gives the onion tartlets their quiche-like filling.

    6. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until edges are golden brown and filling is set. Cool 5 minutes. Remove from muffin cups.

    Pillsbury’s tartlet recipe makes twelve savory appetizers.

    How to make breakfast potatoes

    Recipe

    4 small russet potatoes diced
    2 golden or yellow potatoes diced
    1 large onion diced
    1 large garlic clove minced
    4 chives thinly sliced
    2 pieces of thick cut bacon cut in half
    salt
    pepper

    Directions

    Cook the bacon on med heat in a large cast iron pan or heavy bottom non stick pan until crispy. remove the bacon and cut into small pieces.
    Add the potatoes to the pan and cook until starting to become translucent then add the onion and the garlic and cook till translucent. add the bacon salt and pepper to taste and cook to light golden brown. add the chives and serve. Enjoy!!

    Stuffed Mushroom Appetizers Recipe

    Looking for fun appetizers? This Stuffed Mushrooms Appetizers steal the show. They are easy to make and as a one-bite-appetizer, they are one of our favorites. The texture of the Mushrooms with the softness of the cheese and the crunch of the bread-crumbs…absolute bliss.
    Ingredients:
    Baby Portabella Mushrooms – 8 oz package
    Goat Cheese – 2 oz
    Cream Cheese – 2 oz
    Salt – to taste
    Black Pepper Powder – to taste
    Red Chili Flakes – to taste
    Olive Oil – 2 tsp
    Garlic – 2-3 cloves, finely chopped
    Italian Seasoning – 1/2 tsp
    Panko Bread Crumbs – as needed

    Method:
    1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (approx 205 degrees C)
    2. Wash/wipe the Mushrooms clean of any dirt and debris.
    3. Gently remove the stems of the Mushrooms and keep aside.
    4. Lightly spray a baking dish with some Oil.
    5. Place the Mushrooms, cavity side down, in the baking dish and bake for 10 minutes in the middle of the oven.
    6. Meanwhile chop the Mushroom Stems very finely.
    7. Mix Goat Cheese and Cream Cheese in a bowl and add Salt, Black Pepper and Red Chilli Flakes. Mix.
    8. Once the Mushrooms are out of the oven, flip them over, sprinkle some Salt and allow them to cool.
    9. Meanwhile in a skillet, heat Olive Oil.
    10. Once hot, add Garlic, Italian Seasoning and chopped Mushroom Stems.
    11. Cook until the Mushrooms Stems reduce and caramelize a bit.
    12. Remove from the fire and allow them to cool.
    13. Once cooled, add the Mushroom Stems to the Cheeses mixture.
    14. Mix and incorporate well. Taste and adjust as needed.
    15. Once the Mushrooms have cooled down, flip them once again and drain out all the moisture into another bowl.
    16. Divide the Cheese mixture and stuff it gently into each of the cavities of the Mushrooms.
    17. Turn them upside down and press them into the Panko Bread Crumbs and place them into the baking tray.
    18. Put the baking dish back in the oven for 5 minutes and the on broil(high) for a couple of minutes till the top gets a light golden color.
    19. Once out, sprinkle some Red Chili Flakes, allow them to cool for a few minutes and serve.

    Stuffed Jalapenos Recipe variations:
    1. Deseed the Jalapenos.
    2. Bake the Jalapeno for 5 minutes instead of the 10 for the mushrooms.
    3. Everything else remains the same.

    Aloo Palak is an Indian curry dish, widely found and popularly consumed main course gravy side dish. Chef Ruchi Bharani teaches how to make simple and easy to cook, quick home made potato spinach curry.

    Ingredients:
    1 Onion
    4 Green Chillies
    1 small pc. Ginger
    1 tbsp Cashewnuts
    1/2 tsp Cumin Seed Powder
    1 & 1/2 tbsp Butter
    Tomato pulp
    2 tbsp. yogurt
    2 bunches Spinach (puree)
    1/2 tsp Garam Masala
    Salt
    1/2 tsp Sugar
    1/2 cup water
    2 Potatoes (boiled)

    Method:
    – Grind onion, chilies, ginger, cashew nuts, cumin seed powder into a smooth paste.
    – Heat butter in a pan, put the onion paste into it and saute it till its dry for atleast 4 – 5 mins.
    – Add tomato pulp and mix well
    – After about 2 mins add the churned yogurt and cook it well
    – Add the spinach puree and mix well
    – Add garam masala, salt, sugar, water to the mixture and cook it for about 2 mins
    – Add the boiled potatoes and mix well and the dish is ready to be served.

    -2 whole eggs
    -1 ripe banana

    Ingredients for avocado appetizers:
    1 medium size avocado, 1/3 cup flour, 1/3 cup water, 1-2 ts soybean paste, 1 clove of garlic, egg, salt, and vegetable oil.

    Ingredients for ginkgo nut skewers:
    Vegetable oil, ginkgo nuts, skewers, salt.

    Avocado appetizer:
    1. Skin avocados and slice them into several pieces.
    2. Make batter by mixing 1/3 cup of water, 1/3 cup of flour, 1 clove of chopped garlic, and 1 ts of soy bean paste.
    3. Crack an egg into a bowl and add a pinch of salt. Mix it up.
    4. Heat up the pan with some vegetable oil.
    5. Dip sliced avocado into the batter and then coat them with the egg mixture. Put them on the pan and cook until both sides look light golden brown.
    6. Transfer cooked avocado to a serving plate and serve.

    Ginkgo nut skewers:
    1. Heat up pan over medium heat and put in 1 tbs of vegetable oil.
    2. Add a handful of ginkgo nuts and 2 ts of salt to the pan.
    3. Stir them with a wooden spoon until the inner skins of ginkgo nuts are broken.
    4. Wrap the cooked ginkgo nuts in a paper towel and rub it the top to remove the inner skins.
    5. Skewer gingko nuts and serve them.
