    How To Make Easy Dill Pickles! As Little as One Jar at a Time!!

    Good recipe for home gardeners. No more waiting until you have enough cucumbers to do a huge recipe! This way you can make just one jar or many jars easily.

    Follow amounts listed to be added to each jar. All amounts listed are to be added per jar.

    Quart Jar:
    2 Grape Leaves
    2 Cloves Garlic (sliced)
    2 t. Dill Seed
    2 Heads Fresh Dill (or about 2t Dill Weed)
    1 Tb Pickling or Corse Kosher Salt (non-iodized)
    1/2 Cup White Vinegar (5% acidity)
    Hot Water
    PROCESS 12 Minutes

    Pint Jar:
    1 Grape Leaf
    1 Clove Garlic (sliced)
    1 t. Dill Seed
    1 Head Fresh Dill (or about 1t Dill Weed)
    1/2 TB Pickling or Corse Kosher Salt (non-iodized)
    1/4 Cup White Vinegar (5% acidity)
    Hot Water
    PROCESS 10 Minutes

    1/2 Pint Jar:
    1 Small Grape Leaf
    1/2 Clove Garlic (sliced)
    1/2 t. Dill Seed
    1/2 Large or 1 Small Head Fresh Dill (or about 1/2t Dill Weed)
    3/4 t. Pickling or Corse Kosher Salt (non-iodized)
    2 TB White Vinegar (5% acidity)
    Hot Water
    PROCESS 8 Minutes

    DIRECTIONS:
    Wash cucumbers well and cut off blossom end by about 1/4 inch. This is where the enzymes that make pickles too soft mainly is so trimming them will help the pickles stay crispy. If you cant tell which end is the blossom end its the lighter colored end. Prepare the cucumbers as you wish by leaving small ones whole for baby dills, cutting them in half length wise then each half in thirds or fourths length wise to make spears, slicing rounds for hamburger chips or chopping finely for dill relish. Start the jars by putting the leaf in the bottom first then the spices. You can also add peppercorns or red pepper flakes if you want them to be spicy. Next add the prepared cucumbers to the neck of the jars. Add the vinegar then enough HOT water to 1/4″ from the top. Wipe the top rim of the jar(s) clean and place a sterilized NEW lid on each jar. Screw the ring band on and tighten. Place in water bath canner or stock pot with hot water in it. Make sure water level is at least one inch over the tallest jar. Bring canner to a boil. Count processing times from the time the water canner STARTS to come to a full rolling boil, not the time the jars are placed in the canner. Remove jars when time has been reached and cool on a towel on the counter. If they seal they are good for one year, if they don’t put them in the fridge and use those ones first. They are good right away but are even better when they have been in the brine for a week. ENJOY!

    Stuffed grape leaves is a common dish in the middle east. It can be served as a cold appetizer or as a main dish if it contains meat. This version is meatless and is usually served cold. You can serve it along with tomatoes, slices of lemon or garlic cloves.

    Ingredients:
    0.5kg grape leaves (washed and drained)
    1 cup short grain rice
    1 cup chopped parsley
    ½ cup chopped mint leaves
    ½ cup chopped scallions
    2 medium tomatoes (cut into cubes)
    1 medium tomato (sliced)
    ½ cup lemon juice
    ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
    1 tsp salt
    ½ tsp black pepper powder
    ¼ tsp cinnamon powder
    1 tbs pomegranate molasses
    4 cups water (or more, depends on the size of the pot)

    Baked Honey Chicken Tenders – Lynn’s Recipes

    Lynn demonstrates how to make Baked Honey Chicken Tenders. This is great for a quick dinner. You can do the marinade and keep in refrigerator until ready to cook dinner. Adapted from Six Sisters Stuff.

    2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken tenders
    1/3 cup honey
    1/3 cup soy sauce
    1 teaspoon ground ginger
    1 teaspoon minced garlic
    2 Tablespoons dried minced onions
    ¼ cup green onions, sliced

    Spray a 9 x 13” baking pan with non stick cooking spray. Arrange chicken tenders in a single layer in pan.

    In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic, and dried onion. Pour mixture over chicken. Cover pan with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for an hour or more.

    Preheat oven to 425°.

    Remove chicken from refrigerator, discard plastic wrap and place in oven. Bake for about 30 minutes. Remove chicken from oven, turn over and top with sliced green onions. Return to oven and bake for 10-15 more minutes until chicken is no longer pink.

    4 medium baking potatoes
    1 tablespoon canola oil
    1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    Directions

    Cut each potato into 8-12 wedges; place in a large bowl. Add the remaining ingredients; toss to coat. Arrange in a single layer in a 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan coated with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 425 degrees F for 20 minutes. Turn; bake 25-30 minutes longer or until crisp.

    A recently completed study concludes those who strictly follow a Mediterranean diet plan have a 30% lower risk of having a stroke. Considering that Statin drugs only reduce the risk by 25% and are often accompanied by side effects it clearly makes sense to choose healthy Mediterranean recipes as opposed to taking prescription drugs.

    While the study talked about in this video was only related to the risk of stroke, other studies have shown up to a 30% reduction in the risk of heart attacks and reductions in the risk of Diabetes and other ailments common with the typical high red meat intake western diets.

    An important ingredient in the typical Mediterranean diet is nuts, especially Walnuts. Of course this only pertains to unsalted nuts. Nuts when eaten as a between meal snack are healthy alternatives to chips, crackers and other snacks typically consumed in westernized countries. Chopped walnuts in a fresh Mediterranean salad makes for one of my favorite healthy meals.

    In the Spanish study 50% of the nuts consumed were California Walnuts aka English Walnuts and Persian Walnuts. Walnuts are the only tree nut that contain alpha-linolenic acid an Omega 3 fatty acid which is extremely important in a healthy diet. The inclusion of about 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil daily also contributes greatly to the healthful properties of Mediterranean diets. Just remember when cooking with olive oil to use a low temperature.

    Mediterranean recipes favor fish, like Salmon, chicken or turkey as the predominant meats with red meat typically being included very sparingly. One glass of red wine per day is encouraged for its known heart health benefits.

    There is clearly a renewed interest in Mediterranean diets with several recent studies showing near miraculous health benefits for those people who gave up their normal processed food meals for the fresher and, obviously, healthier alternative of fresh vegetables, nuts, fish, chicken, turkey etc.

    Healthy Whole Wheat Lasagna with Ground Chicken and Spinach Ricotta Cheese! Yummy!
    I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (https://www.youtube.com/editor)
    I used whole wheat lasagna noodles I cooked two boxes but only needed one box. I cut up fresh spinach and mixed it with one quart of Ricotta cheese. I also mixed tomato paste, tomato sauce and crushed tomatoes together for a thick tomatoey mixture. I used ground chicken mixed with freshly chopped green onions. I used a large 2 lb bag of Mozzarella cheese. I made about four layers. Starting with noodles then the Ricotta cheese and spinach mixture then meat on top of that next the Mozzarella cheese next the tomatoey mixture next noodles and so on. The top layer is only sauce and mozzarella cheese. and parsly flakes! I covered it and baked it for 45 min then I baked it uncovered for 10 min. It turned out good and healthy, with a little too much salt in the ricotta cheese mixture but I can draw that out by placing a slice of potatoe inside of one of the layers, rebake it on low, and then remove the potatoe unless it taste good, then I would leave it in!

    Ingredients

    8-12 Chicken legs

    Seasoning

    3 Eggs
    1.5 Cups of plain flour
    1-2 Cups of bread crumbs
    12 Grinds of pepper
    12 Grinds of salt
    1 Tablespoon of Sage
    1 Tablespoon of Marjoram
    1.5 Teaspoons of Oregano
    1 Tablespoon of onion powder
    2 Tablespoons of garlic seasoning
    1.5 Tablespoons of chicken salt
    1 Teaspoon of hot chili powder
    2 Tablespoon of paprika
    3 Tablespoons of Accent

    Deep fryer or deep frying pan is best

    Any oil is fine to use
