Pesto Pie
Food Ingredients:
2 cups Packed Basil 3 cups Garlic cup Parmesan Cheese 5 tablespoons Olive Oil 1 cup Toasted walnuts or pine nuts 2 tablespoons Butter 1 tablespoon Oil 1 cup Chopped Onion 15 ounces Ricotta Cheese 4 Eggs ds White Pepper ds Salt ds Nutmeg
Recipe preparation:
1 Using first four ingredients make pesto in a blender until creamy. Then = saute onion in oil and butter until soft. Then whisk ricotta cheese and eggs with onion. Add spices and pour into prepared pie pan. Top with pesto and swirl pesto into pie. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes until firm and set. 2 NOTES : For crust cut 4 1/2 tablespoons chilled shortening and 1/4 cup butter e until a ball is formed roll out, put into a 9″ pie pan and bake with foil more. You can use a pre-made pie crust just bake as directed above. Also
