Can I have my 6 min back. I was looking about how to dry and store fresh
pasta. This women has no idea
Bill, (below), there is no ‘s’ on the end of ‘anyway’.
Double strands of spaghetti are because the dough is too moist. Resist the
urge to add more water in the dough, even if it’s very dry and won’t come
together. Instead, take the dough out and knead it, then cover with
plastic and allow it to rest for 20-30 minutes. the dough will be wetter
after the rest, on its own. Then when you roll your sheets, flour them
periodically and allow them to air dry before cutting, but not letting them
get crusty. You’ll find that the spaghetti will come out as single strands
with drier dough.
@tanoo101 Glad to hear your ordered one, I am certain you will love it!
“Ice” and “Aqua” are two different colors. “Ice” is a lighter blue and
“aqua” which is what I have has a deeper color to it. It may look lighter
in the video due to lighting. Kitchen Aid website only shows “Ice” but
Amazon has both “Ice” and “Aqua.” Hope you get your mixer soon! Do you have
other aqua colored accessories?
“Let your noodles hang out”…LOL
Get a BlendTec !
@MakingSweetCreations Its very pretty, i believe its called ice now, and
the turquoise one is darker more turquoise-y. But i ordered one after
seeing your vid, in ice. It’ll go great with my Tuscan kitchen, and now i
have the first thing to try on it too, thanks to your vid! Great Job on the
pasta!
Thanks for the idea…I will make a video later this week about smoothies
and I will experiment with using my processor and then I will make one
using my hand held immersion blender so you can see it too. We will see
what happens! Sound good? 🙂
Thanx so much for showing this. I wondered from your last viseo how to do
this part, you answered and now you showed me. Thanx a bunch!!!!
did they teach you how to spell *flour* in culinary school 🙂
@BonnieBlue2A I am not familiar with food dehydrators, but that is a good
question.
if it sticks you need more flower dont be afraid to use the flower! makes
sure its well flowered before cutting then take it dust a bit of flower
over it then kind of toss it so it breaks apart and gets well coated. i cut
my pasta with a knife so i stack it before i cut it to get even cuts, so i
learn fairly quick not to be too shy with the flower.
Thanks for the video. After I roll out my pasta sheets, i leave them out
for about 7- 10 mins and then turn them over for another 7-10 minutes. I
also lightly powder each side. This dries the sheets out somewhat, and then
when I send them through the cutter, I can lay them right out and never
have sticking problems
