http://www.TheThermalCook.com – Italian Spaghetti Bolognese slow cooked by Mr D in his Thermal Cooker – This is a truly great Bolognese in fact one of the best I have ever tasted. It is adapted for the thermal cooker by me from a recipe by Jo Pratt and could equally be cooked in a slow cooker.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp of sun dried tomato olive oil
200g smoked bacon, chopped into pieces
2 onions, chopped
3 garlic cloves, crushed
2 celery sticks, chopped
1kg minced beef
200ml red wine
2 x 400g tins of chopped tomatoes
280g jar of antipasti mushrooms, drained
2 bay leaves
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried thyme
drizzle of balsamic vinegar
280g jar sun dried tomatoes, drained and chopped
freshly ground black pepper
25g fresh basil leaves, torn into small pieces
