Allrecipes you folks are a loved cooking aid BUT this recipe…Hmmm…
I use the bones from the yummy roasted chickens saved in the freezer to
make my stock. So when I want soup I just take out a baggie of broth and,
Bob’s your uncle.
To make soup, I add saute garlic, onions, add broth and water. When soup
starts to boil I add my veggies so that they’ll have some crunch.
While soup is cooking or well before, salt and pepper your chicken
breast(s) place them in a 450 oven and cook them just as you would if you
were going to eat them alone. This way your chicken will have it’s own
flavor and it won’t be dried out from being boiled.
When soup is ready add the now shredded chicken and a handful of basil or
oregano stir, and serve with hunks of crusty bread.
Feel free to add noodles or rice.
Why no noodles? That’s the best part!

how long do i need to simmer the chicken and vegetables for? i only heard
until the meat falls of the bone, but can you give a ball park on time?

My boyfriend, who is sick, wants soup so I decided to look one up. This
looks easy to me because I HATE to cook and will only cook something that
has 5 ingredients. That’s just wrong right. I know. I’ll do it although
I don’t have a big pot. Thanks.
I would definitely add fresh garlic clove to the chicken and veggie boil &
maybe a boullion cube..

Hey. I use whole fresh carrots and I do peel them. If I cook them separate
from the main dish (soup or stew) and add them later it’s fine but when I
cook them in the soup I taste this weird bittery taste
I like this receipe because it’s easy and very simple with all natural
ingredients. I’m going to try it SOON!
I find that the veggies used to make the stock are completely devoid of
flavor/texture when they come out., so I toss them. I have tried eating
them separately to avoid the waste, but they’re just awful. Instead, I cut
up fresh veggies and soften them a bit in the pot (high heat with some
olive oil) before adding the stock and shredded chicken.
Side note: garlic and thyme can really kick up chicken soup.
can u use chicken breast fillets instead of whole chicken?
This is like my recipe to make dog food. That’s not a blast against it. I’m
just saying. Chicken stewed with vegetables in a pressure cooker, my dog
does back-flips for it.
