CrossFit – Cooking Honey Sesame Chicken Thighs

Even if you’re busy, Chef Nick Massie shows you how quick and easy it is to cook up a batch of protein.

The ingredients: 3.5 lb. of chicken thighs, fresh garlic, tamari, sesame oil, honey, sesame seeds, fresh ginger and fresh cilantro. Together, they get tossed in a big bowl, where Massie mixes it all by hand. He lets the thighs sit for about 30 minutes, and then he sears them in a pan.

“The chicken thigh is a little tricky because there’s all kinds of contours,” explains Massie, who runs PaleoNick.com.

After he sears his first batch, he places the thighs in a smaller bowl and covers them in plastic wrap to steam.

“Combine this—good, tasty protein—with some greens, a salad, some fruit, you name it,” he says. “We’ll package them up and have ’em ready for snackin’ and meals throughout the week.”

Lol, every video I watch of guys who do alot of training, none of them can
cook well. The chicken in this video is clearly burnt, used too high a heat
for too long for the marinade. But it’s a decent attempt and a good recipe
so overall, thanks, it’s always helpful to have ideas and I like this idea
of honey coating chicken (carbs + protein right there).

I can’t believe how much ginger was wasted….

Yep, i honestly think that you should clean meat and vegetables before
    cooking or handling.

Looks tasty and all, but I find it really unhygienic when the chicken isn’t
washed before cooking, even if it’s from a trusted source. That’s just
    gross.

You know if you don’t wash your chicken you can get germs and bacteria- or
even get sick (in a way). I don’t know what the comment was before but you
    should clean your meat! -_-

You should wash your hands- not saying that its not right to use a towel,
but you know it’s some times better to rinse/ wash. Oh i saw your previous
videos too! they were actually good, but i recommend cleaning the
vegetables and any type of meat before cooking. (soaked meat in blood- >.< is disgusting! But any way keep up in making more videos!

dose anyone know what kind of pans he is using to cook with…?

    Looks delicious

Actually the FDA recommends not washing raw meat now. The splashing and
aerosolization spreads contaminants much easier, and leads to more illness
    than not washing.

You’ll wash all the flavor off. Nothing is grosser than watered down meat.
That would be an easy recipe for dry chicken!

Great recipe! I was wondering what kind of pan/skillet (brand) were you
using? Thanks for this awesome info. I will add this to my gluten free
    recipes! Yay!

Cooked this myself last night, needs more honey/tamari and a little less
coriander I think, but it’s really nice
