BETH’S FEED ME FAST CHICKEN RECIPE
Serve 2 adults + 2 kids
INGREDIENTS:
3/4 lb (340 g) Chicken Tenders
¼ cup (60 ml) low sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp (15 ml) Mirin
1 tsp (5 ml) toasted sesame oil
2 ½ (12.5 ml) tsp honey
1 garlic clove, minced
3 tbsp (45 ml) cornstarch
1 tbsp (15 ml) flavorless oil (canola or vegetable)
a pinch of sesame seeds
1 ½ cups (325 g) broccoli florets
drizzle of toasted sesame oil
Pinch of red pepper flakes
1 packet microwaveable brown rice
METHOD:
Place rice in microwave and cook according to package instructions. Usually takes about 4 mins to complete.
Then prep the chicken. Place cornstarch in a large bowl. Cut chicken into bite sized pieces, toss in the cornstarch and set aside.
Heat oil in a large skillet on medium high. At the same time, heat large pot on medium high with a shallow amount of water on the other burner, covered.
Combine soy sauce, mirin, toasted sesame oil, honey and garlic in a bowl. Stir to combine and set aside.
Then once the oil is shimmering add the chicken. Cook until golden brown on one side. Flip chicken, once cooked through add the sauce. Allow to simmer until chicken is coated and sauce has thickened.
Meanwhile, throw the florets into the water. Turn off the flame. Cover and steam broccoli while sauce is thickening on chicken.
Then in a large bowl, place the cooked rice on the bottom, on one side add the broccoli on top. Sprinkle broccoli with a drizzle of toasted sesame oil and a few red pepper flakes. On the other side add the chicken and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Enjoy!

I don’t know why but your videos are somewhat therapeutic to watch. I’m
vegan so I don’t make any of these foods but it’s just….entertaining with
beth! hahah
Aaah can’t wait for your gardening channel!! I really loved your
herb-planting video you uploaded a while ago 😀 My dream is to have a house
with garden I can grow my own veggies/fruit/hers in. That chicken looks
delish btw <3
woooow microwavable frozen rice?? well, that’s a first hahaha never heard
of that before 😮
And don’t worry about your kids, Beth, I used to be just like that when I
was a kid, even worse actually (I used to literally spit the food out when
my mom tried to feed me), and now, according to my hips and waste line,
definitely not anymore hahaha
I always rinse fresh chicken or other meats from the grocery store and then
pat it dry!
Doesn’t anyone else?
I like that you take everyday food and turn it into fab meals on not much
money. That’s a great chef!
I ❤️ your videos, they are so good! You are the best cooking/baking channel
and your recipes are amazing!!
Beth, this is so delicious! Chicken is one of my favourite foods and i
combine it with everything. The salty and sweet combo is great for this
recipe.
My kids were picky eaters as well, but when they grow up , they appreciate
the food and try new things as well. Patience.
Have a wonderful weekend in L.A.
Patricia.
Love your real time recipes! And this one looks soooo good!
what a great week-night meal! that chicken looks absolutely delicious!
I just came across your videos and fell in love with your style of cooking!
I’m from Germany but I’ve spent 6 months in Texas in 2011 so it’s kind of
nostalgic seeing English speaking cooking videos…I’m actually going to
make this for tonight’s dinner! Thank you so much for your genius recipes
:)
This is so easy, adding it to my list for midweek meals.
p.s. the audio wasnt that bad I just turned my volume down a tiny bit and
it was okay :)
I made them the other day and it’s really tasty. I’d add some chicken broth
in the end next time and make some sauce out of this to pour over the rice
haha. Love your recipes!
Love this video. The meal looked delicious. Now that I live in CA I can
officially go to Trader Joes! I didn’t have one near me in Florida.
Thank you so much for sharing your recipes Beth! I made this last night and
it was an absolute hit with my four munchkins and hubby. Absolutely
scrumptious!
I’m looking forward to the gardening videos! You inspired me to grow my own
basil but then I killed it in few days during summer in Alabama Lol
That looks super yummy, I will try the recipe at home. The audio in this
video seems a bit off.
Could some seasoning be added to the cornstarch before tossing the chicken
in?
Also what could be used as a replacement for the honey? Theres a honey
allergy in my family lol
Happy New Year to you too, Beth!
Not to take anything from this delicious recipe but what’s with the audio?
Why didn’t you remove the tendon from the tenderloins? Doesn’t that make
for a chewy bite?
Is it just me or is the audio quality off ?

Do you think this recipe would work with beef?
First time viewer and I love the idea of a real time recipe. The recipe
looked delicious! However, I found the background music to be very
distracting. I would prefer to just hear you talk. Hope to see more of
these videos!
Your channel is one of my faves on YouTube!!! I made your waffle recipe
this morning and it was soooo delicious! Can’t wait to try this one. I’m
excited about your gardening channel. I hope you will get into some
container gardening – I live in a high rise condo with limited space but
would love to plant my own herbs. So looking forward to your new channel!!!
:)
Happy new year Beth! I just love these real-time recipes so much. One
reason is it’s fun to watch haha and I can imagine it is more difficult
than jump cuts videos because you have to think about what to say when
things are cooking. Have a great year ahead! xoxo
