Simmered Spicy Meatballs

Food Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs 3 tablespoons parsley, chopped 1 egg 1 sm. onion, grated 2 teaspoons grated lemon rind Salt freshly ground pepper 3 tablespoons cooking oil 1 med. onion, finely chopped 1/2 teaspoon curry powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon ground coriander 2 cups beef bouillon 1/4 cup raisins, chopped Salt to taste

Recipe preparation:
1 Mix together all ingredients for meatballs except oil. Heat the oil in a heavy frying pan and brown meatballs over moderate heat. Remove from pan and set aside. While you make the sauce. 2 Add onion the same pan (you may need a little extra oil) and stir until starting to soften. Add curry, cinnamon, cumin and coriander and stir 1 minute. Add bouillon, raisins and salt to taste; bring to a boil. Return meatballs to the pan, cover and simmer 30 minutes. 3 Taste sauce and adjust seasoning, adding a little sugar if desired. Serve meatballs and sauce in a heated dish, with rice, chutney and diced cucumbers. Serves 4.
