Quinoa is a complete protein containing all nine essential amino acids and boasting twice as much fiber as most other grains. Quick-cooking and packed with protein, it’s the foundation for this main course chicken salad.

Love how versatile Quinoa is!
I love Quinoa but it takes more time to cook than this.
Great recipe.I think you need to stress the idea of cross contamination
with food. you didn’t properly sanitize your hands after handling the
chicken. You spread chicken juices over the pepper grinder and other misc.
items, unless you washed your hands off camera. I know that is what you
will tell us. People who watch this video won’t even think about the
dangers of raw chicken, they will just make the recipe and possibly make
someone ill. Just an observation, no negative thoughts please, just trying
to keep food safe for everyone.
This is one of the few Quinoa cooking videos where I see sauteing the
“grain” before adding the liquid! This is exactly how I cook it too and it
makes for a wonderful Quinoa. :)
Going to go shopping today and I am so making this for my lunch! I am very
curious how my kids will go about it 🙂 Let’s see!
Could you do some eat clean picnic ideas (food that tastes awesome at room
temp) =D not just a normal sandwich or muffin…
This would be a great side dish as well or even better paired with some
kimchi on the side! yum!!!!
Just made it and it’s delicious!
everything Shira makes looks good to me. idky
Hi Shira thank you so much for sharing this recipe with us! I just tried it
and it came out A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! you’re definitely my favourite chef now♥
Greetings from Perú :)
I usually soak the quinoa the night before to “sprout” it and that helps
get rid of all the bitterness than just washing it many times. I can’t wait
to try this recipe this weekend! Looks delicious!
I bet this would be even more delicious if you used chicken stock (or even
veggie stock) instead of the water.
Please make some more desserts, vegetarian or tofu dishes please!
Can you use couscous instead?
Just made it tonight, very yummy and not bland. I used chicken stock
instead of water though. I only had 1/2 cup of quinoa so I cooked some
couscous separately and added it afterward. This dish was light yet
flavorful and I intend to make it again 🙂 Thanks Shira!
People who fluff rice with a metal fork are either deaf or dead inside;
just the thought of that sound makes me cringe!
what would be a good vegetarian substitute for the chicken? any other
veggies or?
I’m not really a fan of quinoa, do you have any good substitutes?
So I can eat this out of the fridge, If I were to have leftovers?
Hi
Tried it. Good recipe. Thank you for constantly coming up with great
healthy recipes.
that’s way too much salt and oil for my liking…. otherwise an interesting
recipe
I love quinoa, I add it to my homemade veggie burgers. Love this recipe
Shira, I’m all about a one pot meal, thanks so much for sharing.
