Recipe from cookbook author, Helen M. Radics who is the author of 7 English language and 1 Hungarian language cookbook, several e-cookbooks / e-baking books and is the owner of Treasured Hungarian Family Recipes ® The Secret of Hungarian cooking ®. She is also the creator of the HUNGARIAN HERITAGE RECIPE LIBRARY™
Word From the Author
Lecso is a wonderful, easy to prepare, light Hungarian specialty. It is also considered the cousin of the French Ratatouille.
It is created with peppers, onion, tomatoes, Hungarian smoked sausages and by either adding or leaving out eggs at the end. There are as many versions as regions of Hungary, however, I am sharing with you the original recipe. You may also make it a completely vegetarian dish by leaving out the sausages. You may also use it to create another Hungarian specialty “Pork Chops with Lecso” (Lecsos Szelet). I will be uploading that video next week along with 3 more fresh new videos.
