Another commented “your not supposed to pierce eggs because you can get
bacteria inside the egg” Many recommend piecing the shell prior to boiling
to supposedly making the egg easier to peel, that’s what’s discourage to
prevent introducing bacteria. With the eggs being in boiling water this
long bacteria may no longer be present anywhere. Having said that I have
never seen a commercially produced pickled egg with holes in it. We can
only do what sounds reasonable to ourself.

nice eggs. 18 minutes is way too long to be boiled for.

Other videos and recipes are suggesting you must boil the vinegar and
spices together first prior to using in the pickling process. Is this true?
    Or optional?

I boil my eggs in water with salt already added to it. I Have never had a
peeling issue at all. Fresh or Old eggs alike. I buy them, bring them home,
boil them in salt water and then peel them with ease. I also only bring the
water to a boil and then turn off the heat and let the eggs sit in the
water for 12 minutes and then cool them off.

Wow. That couldn’t be any easier! I love pickled eggs. When I was 16 our
family went to England and I saw ‘Scotch eggs’ in the pubs. They looked
great. They had some sort of coating on them. This looks great! I’m going
to give it a try. Thanks for this video!
