My dad would make the Italian, toast, with Italian bread, egg, parm.
cheese, and spices. This would use up all the extra bread we had in the
house, I know John, your family made this before, All my friends would
smell it from around the block, and be over to grab some, Have to have that
good olive oil, when you make this, that’s what makes it special.
Damn look at that range lol. Chef John has obviously moved up since then,
good job!

Well, you know, it’s not a doughnut? Folks, this is totally NOT the way
to cook french toast and yes, hot butter and powdered sugar is great. You
don’t have to use powdered sugar; but that butter/sugar mixture along with
hot buttered syrup is delicious. NO baking needed. No baking! Now,
Usually I like his cooking. But not this time. The bread is wrong; and
the cooking is wrong… ok, I’m done ranting. Better cooking next time.
