Thank you chef! I used bread flour (16oz) and added herbs to the dough. My oven only goes up to 500F, and it took additional 5 min to bake but they turned out terrific! I made the second half of the dough into pizza, and that also worked out great.

This channel looks so nice and I would love to watch more videos, but it drives me nuts, that he goes up with his voice on every single sentence. I am too picky, but I just can't stand it.
I'll stick to reading the recipes.

Just got a bread mixer (on sale). I love my mom! Can't wait to bake… baguette's are really 6 ft long. These are really batards (yes! Because few of us have ovens to make 6 ft loaves) but they're still the same thing.
Love that you spray them. A true teacher. Love you chef john. :)

It really should only take one to two hours to double in size-12 to 14 hours is pretty ridiculous.

in the blog it says "18 oz by weight all-purpose flour (500 grams), about 4 cups" and this is really confusing to me… 18 oz is equal to 2.25 cups, not 4 cups" can somebody help me?

What can i use if i don't have corn meal for the bottom?

  15. pakmanmanc

Do not put these on a baking tray without anything under them. Just ruined 2 as they stuck to the tray and even though i heavily dusted the tray with cornmeal they still stuck. The other 2 i actually put on a pizza tray with holes in the bottom and they worked perfectly. Thanks again chef John. And as always. ….. Enjoyed!

This recipe does not work with 4 cups of flour!

Hiya you just added salt into your yeast water. Is that a special type of yeast or just the normal type because when I was learning bread baking the instructor told me to never mix yeast and salt because salt will kill the yeast.
