Energy Boosting Fruit & Nut Snacks Recipe – Performance Food

If you suffer from low energy levels as the day continues or, worse still, rely on sugary drinks and candy/chocolate to give you that pick-me-up then these little snacks would be much better for you.

With lower GI and a slower release of sugar and energy these will maintain energy and concentration levels throughout the day.

As a person with diabetes who definitely knows the troubles of high and low
blood sugar, I wholeheartedly approve of these.

Dried fruits are actually some of the worst things you can eat. All simple
carbs (sugar), nutrients dried up during dehydration process, and since the
calories stay the same, you will eat more dried fruit to get the same
satisfaction than just eating hydrated fruit.

Snacking is also a pretty stupid thing to do if you’re cutting. Eating
small throughout the day has proven to be bullshit, and having more
opportunities to eat will result in overconsumption…

The most effective way to stay full is to just drink water. It’s so
stupidly simple that it baffles me how few people know this.

If I melted dark chocolate and dipped them in there and let them set, how
do you think those would turn out?

You think you guys could make the sorted app available for those of us
without iPhones. All the android people out here are starting to feel
    excluded! ;)

This reminds me of a not-so-healthy Swedish snack called “chocolate balls”,
and it’s basically oatmeal, sugar, cocao, butter and a splash of coffee or
orange juice, rolled up in balls and tossed around in either coconut or
    pearled sugar 🙂 delicious

These all sound amazing, definitely giving them a go!

There is no such thing as a sugar high. There is no scientific evidence of
energy highs or energy crashes caused by sugar. There are many OTHER
reasons to avoid sugar, but energy isn’t one of them. We need to stop
    perpetuating that idea.

How long can I store them, if I keep them in the fridge?

Would you guys also do some savory healthy snacks? Maybe a few shelf-stable
snacks that can be grabbed on the go for a quick boost?
