This is one of 170 recipes found in my cookbook, Classic Lebanese
Cuisine-170 Fresh and Healthy Mediterranean Favorites…available at most
bookstores and online book venues. Best regards, Chef Kamal
Greetings, The recipe and the procedure are in my book. I will eventually
be posting it on YouYube…The reason you really need the recipe from the
book is because the procedure is also key when preparing great honey balls.
Thank you for this really easy to follow video, its so nice to see
different variations of this sweet from other parts of the world 🙂 I grew
up enjoying the greek “Loukoumades” which my grandmother made.. its very
similar to Awwamat. 🙂

balls…that the most imp part…n u havent shown that…could u plz send

Shukran. (Thank you)
@ChefKamal1 do you have your own cookbooks in english?
Greetings, I presently have not written that recipe…I am hoping to
include it in my next book.
You are welcome. I agree, I also love seeing all the different variations
of this sweet from other parts of the world. Thanks for your comment.

MY mum makes these for ramazan 😀 And i mix them in the syrup and put them
in the ball. Thanks for sharing this 🙂
Never mind Chefkamal. I found your site and made an order for your book and
dvd. Ma’salaam
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing your culture. We lived in Jordan for
two years and the persian gulf for another three. My son requests these
sweets often and now we are making them for his class. Shukran.
Marhaba Kamal……. Mashallah your cooking looks delicious!!!! Can you
please send me the recipe for the dough and the syrup you use for the honey
balls, hope to hear from you soon……. thank you, Salaam
Greetings, Thank you for contacting me. I beleive the difference between
“honey balls” and the two recipes you refer to is that the honey balls have
a crunchy outer shell and a light airy center. I hope you will try the
recipe – I think you will enjoy the honey balls. Stay well – best regards,
Kamal
Greetings, Yes, they do resemble one another. I believe gulab jaman is
more”doughnut like” in texture while awwamat have a crunchy outer shell and
are light and airy inside. I agree…they both look so yummy. Chef Kamal
@ChefKamal1 plz can u show me how to make zinoud el sit iraqi dessert
can you please tell me how to make the dough…,????
Usually I like to eat it with honey instead of syrup, & sometimes on their
own without any topping or as savory with any condiment.
its close to impossible to find real Syrian recipes on youtube– would it
not be better to dip the spoon into cold oil that way you dont have water
accidentally dripping into the oil—this looks fun- i need to look up the
recipie- x shelly
The recipe is on page 189 in my cookbook…Classic Lebanese
Cuisine…thanks….
