Food Ingredients:
12 eggs 12 tablespoons sugar 12 tablespoons plain bread crumbs 12 tablespoons walnuts, ground fine 1 teaspoon vanilla 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 egg 1/2 cup milk 3/4 cup sugar 3 level tbsp. flour
Recipe preparation:
1 Separate yolks from the whites. Beat yolks about 10 minutes, then add sugar slowly. Still beating, add all ingredients slowly, continue beating. Beat egg whites until stiff, but not dry. Fold egg whites into the mixture. Bake in an 8 inch cake pan for about 25 minutes at 350 degrees. 2 Mix and heat over the stove until it thickens. Stir often to keep from scorching. LET COOL. Mix: 1/2 tsp. vanilla 3 Spoon while mixing cold mixture of egg, sugar, flour, adding powdered sugar slowly, still beating. Add more powdered sugar to make icing thicker and easier to spread on the cake.
