Is bread sauce dessert related, or non-dessert related?!?!?!?
Lactose intolerant people like me should avoid this.
All the flavour of the onion has gone into the milk mixture. You can chop
up the onion and put it in the sauce, but you’ll have a lumpy sauce 😉
I had to google bread sauce to see what it was all about. This sauce dates
back to medieval times. Very cool! Thanks for making the video.
Love it
Bread Sauce is best when made fresh and consumed within 1-2 days. Store it
in the fridge 😉
Never heard of bread sauce before, but it sounds delicious! Gonna give it a
try!
Weirdest thing, David! Never seen or heard of such sauce! Interesting
though….
This looks great! Thanks for this great recipe! xo @TheHotPlate1
I’m pretty sure it’s the same thing as Pumpkin Pie Spice.
Perhaps the onion could be pureed into the milk mixture after it’s leached
it’s flavour into the liquid.
Good for you.
Thx for the recipe. Tried it out and taste so wonderful 🙂
At first I saw the title , i was grossed out because I’ve never heard of
this before XD LOL
hi i wanting to make this but for my stepmom is there away i could make a
batch and store it away so that when she fancy some she can grab a jar and
reheat it up ?
so, it’s a bechamel sauce, except the bread does the flours job, and the
fat is added last, not first. How cool. I make milk gravy all the time here
in america for my fried chicken (insert joke here) I’d use this to pour
over rice pudding!!!!
Hmm. Never heard of bread sauce. I take it this can be used as a all-around
condiment, or is there something it goes with particularly well?
About that onion you just got rid of, can you cook it and then eat it? Or
can’t you do anything with the onion? I hate having to throw away a good
looking onion.
Haven´t tried it with the mixed spices,I usually poke cloves into the
onions.. I make it much thicker, too. I definitely will try this way in the
next day or two … thanks. 🙂
Nooo! Never discard onions! Can you chop them and keep them in the sauce?
Love your videos!
If you wish 😉
David, What is the 1st Recipe in your intro? Thanks, Anthony. 🙂
Mmm something I’ve never heard of, but must try 🙂
I’ve never heard of bread sauce before. May have to give this a try!
