Bread Sauce is a traditional Christmas sauce that is very easy to make. Milk is infused with onion and spices, then mixed with fresh breadcrumbs to create a thick, savoury sauce. Serve hot or cold, as a gravy or a condiment, this delicious sauce will add that extra taste of Christmas to your table – give it a go!

INGREDIENTS IN THIS DISH:

1 Medium Onion
2 Bay Leaves
1/2 Teaspoon of Mixed Spice
3 Cups of Milk
1 1/4 Cups of Fresh Breadcrumbs
Salt and Pepper (to season)
30g of Butter

Preparation Time: About 15 minutes (plus 30 minutes waiting time)

SERVES 6 – 8

ALL MEASUREMENTS GIVEN ARE AUSTRALIAN STANDARD METRIC
