Vegan Protein 101

There are plenty of plant-based sources of protein that will provide your body with essential amino acids, as well as minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, healthy fats, and phytonutrients.

I’ve been vegan for 3 years, and I have never had a protein deficiency (even with my active lifestyle). I actually feel better than I have ever felt before, and am 100% satisfied with my plant-based diet.

Visit my blog for a list of my favorite protein sources + recipes: http://www.sweetpotatosoul.com/2014/03/q-with-jenne-where-do-vegans-get-their.html

Hi Jenne, just wondering where you stand in the big soaking beans and seeds controversy. Do you or don't you always soak all your seeds and beans, including all the quinoa you eat. Could you throw some light on this? For instance, I like pumpkin seeds, but I'm told that, unless I soak them overnight, the zinc will not be 'bioavailable' to me and all those wonderful seeds will be wasted because of the 'phytic acid' that blocks absorption.

You look nice. I have a vegan in my family and I'm very concerned for the health. Being a vegetarian seems so much easier. I can't eat dairy because I'm sensitive  to it. However, I feel vegan's have a  lack food choices in the world out eating out. It's seems harder to go out and be social. Nice video!
