Slow Cooker Sunday: Tomato Basil and Parmesan Soup Recipe

This is the perfect soup for one of the cold winter days that we’ve been having here. This soup is definitely filling on it’s own, but who doesn’t love a classic grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup.

I found the recipe for this on Pinterest. If you would like to see the typed out recipe, you can find it here: http://utah.todaysmama.com/2012/03/20/tomato-basil-parmesan-soup-in-the-slow-cooker-or-on-the-stove-top/

We just had a flash freeze today and it’s going to stay really cold for a
few days. Perfect soup weather. Will have to give this a try asap. Can’t
    wait!

Thanks so very much Jen! I just made this today for our family and it was
a big hit; I also have enough leftovers to freeze for lunches during the
week. Blessings to you for all that you do:-) p.s. the half and half gave
    it a nice creamy texture:-))

Jen. I haven’t been able to post comments in months and I’ve been dying to.
I finally got it all worked out just now. Thank you for this recipe. .I
made it tonight for dinner and it was fantastic. Im wondering if there was
a way to lighten it up though. I did use skim milk but its all that butter
im worried about. How you tried to make this more figure friendly or can
you think of a way to do it? THANKS!

Will give the recipe a try minus the dairy due to a dairy allergy.

looks so good. We have to eat heart healthy so I’ll use tomato paste as a
thickener. and fat free half and half but can’t wait to try it.

Running a household and managing kids/family is soooo tough these days.
It’s difficult to have ‘family dinners’ that linger, as opposed to years
ago. I’m so thankful for the abundance of recipe videos and wonderful
cookbooks that make getting dinner on the table – and without necessarily
spending hours in the kitchen – possible. Great job as always, Jen.
Thanks so much to you, and others, for making the time to help so many with
    all your ideas:)
