Why are you adding salt? That ham shank is salty enough. You should
blanch the ham first before sticking it in with everything else – I also
first fry the veggies before putting it in the slow cooker.

Hi Jack, You make me want to rush out and get some split peas, and ham
hocks, well done. I usually do frozen peas and mint soup, with spring
oions. However will certaily be giving this a go. Many thanks,

reminds me of grandma’s soup, 55 years ago, thanks dude, but you put more
time into your croutons than the soup.

Your written recipe calls out for 2 tsp. dried parsley flakes but it looks
like you have more than that on video.

I been struggling with to find out why mine is not as green as yours. I
read everything from its the carrots to anything that is acidic. Anybody
know why? Or Jack do u know. Your looks so green. Oh and I did your recipe
    from this vid.

It would be nice if you either soaked or rinsed your beans and rinse off
your Ham Hocks, you never know who’s hands been touching them.

My mom made the best. She kept all her recipes in her head. When she passed

    like it….Yum, Thank you!!!!

I am new to your channel and really enjoyed this episode! My husband asked
for split pea soup when she noticed our left over ham bone from
thanksgiving. I needed a recipe and I am a slow cooker freak! Thanks for
sharing, you are really good at what to do. You are fun to watch!
