Hi there. I just made these, without the rolo because I don't have them here. The cookies came out too flat. They spread and became a big mess. Where did I go wrong?

This recipe didn't work for me:(. I followed all the measurements and even let the batter cool in the fridge for more than 2 hours and let the rolos sit in the freezer for 4 hours but when i popped them in the oven it melted everywhere. I want to try this recipe again, does anybody have any suggestions?
