Marshmallow Frosting Recipe – How to Make Marshmallow Frosting by Pink Cake Princess
Want a super white frosting? Try this marshmallow frosting recipe! How to make marshmallow frosting by Pink Cake Princess. Pipe it onto your cupcakes or even better ice cream cupcakes and you will have a beautiful & smooth swirl just like a soft serve ice cream! It actually doesn’t contain any marshmallows in it & is a really sweet frosting.
Leftovers can be piped into mini meringue shapes & left to dry for a few days to harden up. It is a sweet frosting & can be coloured with liquid food dyes to make the most beautiful colourful pastel cupcake swirls! Check out the ice cream cupcake links to see how to do these things. How to Make Marshmallow Frosting – Recipe Ingredients
3 large egg whites (about 100g)
480g white sugar
3 teaspoons light corn syrup
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
150ml water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Place all ingredients except vanilla extract into a large bowl over a saucepan of simmering water. Make sure that the bottom of the bowl isn’t touching the water from the pan.
Beat with a hand held electric mixer until soft peaks form (about 5 to 10 minutes).
Add & combined vanilla extract & remove from heat.
At this stage you can add in food colouring if you want.
To pipe I used a piping bag & a Star Tip No. 17 from Loyal (brand) but you can use any large open star tip like that.
If you don’t have piping bags or tips you could use a large zip lock bag with one of the corners cut off & you can be able to pipe a rounded swirl.
