If you’re popping microwave popcorn and you get those 50 or 60 whole
kernels that are ALWAYS at the bottom of the bag, just reaching in the bag
and transfer the popped corn into a bowl, shaking the bag so the kernels
stay on the bottom, and then roll the bag back up and set it for another
    minute.

This gives you a lot less wasted and you only end up with 4 or 5 kernels at
the bottom. Since you’ve already emptied out the popped ones, there’s no
    chance of burnt popcorn!

I have been doing popcorn very similar to this way for a while now, and, It
does work really well. Instead of using coconut oil, I use a combination
of cooking spray & a couple of pats of butter. Definitely worth the extra 2
minutes it will take you to measure out the ingredients. Since the Oil
does tend to seep out during the popping, I place paper towels in the
microwave to absorb any excess oil.

Wow what a cool and simple idea. Much safer than the chemically saturated
microwave popcorn which I haven’t bought in years. Will give it a try ! :)
