Not really, since his own restaurant, The Fat Duck, has been runner-up as
the best restaurant in the world several times (and not chosen by public
opinion, but by the world’s top chefs and food critics). Michelin stars
aren’t awarded for popularity but for sheer quality, otherwise McDonald’s
would probably be the pinnacle of western gourmet kitchen. The fact that he
has his face on TV doesn’t diminish the fact that he’s generally hailed by
experts to be one of the best chefs on the planet.

Being the first to get 3 stars doesn’t make him the best. Also marco
returned his 3 stars after shortly obtaining them because he retired. And
marco had his inspirations, so you can’t use that weak argument. Marco had
nothing to do with heston wanting to become a chef. Did marco’s or gordon’s
restaurants ever get voted best in the world? No they did not Heston is
consistent 1st or 2nd in the rankings. There is no argument in this matter,
his awards speak for themselves
but you’re a wasteman. Anyway what about quaglinos one diner died there
so… plus the people only got ill because the oysters he cooked with were
contaminated from a sewage spill in the sea.

his restaurant has won best in the world and has been runner up many times.
He is so far ahead of ramsay, marco or any of the other english celebrity
chefs.
I know they both did. But students can surpass their teachers. Especially
as marco retired way too early. Gordon’s surpassed marco aswell, I regard
him as 2nd best after Heston. Gordon has the 3rd most michelin stars in the
world with his vast number of eateries. I don’t know when those rankings
began. I know heston’s fat duck won in 2005 and has come 2nd for the last 4
years. Gordon didn’t make the top 100 this year, the year before his london
restaurant ranked 16th, kinda odd.
