I made this once, and let me tell you It’s delicious in it’s simplicity.
Sometimes I dare to experiment a little and I made a variation of this that
included a tiny amount of bird’s eye chilli peppers and it’s amazing.
If you are a garlic addict like me add one or two cloves to the water and
blend it with the broccoli – tastes amazing
I suppose this is resourceful… If you are poor and lacking money for
proper ingredients. This soup tastes best with two sticks of butter boiled
with the broccoli and velveeta cheese instead of goat cheese
When I was 3 years old I started my first business. It was a restaurant
with 4 michelin stars. I teached Ramsey how to make food at a age of 4.
can you use bacon instead of broccoli?
where can i get this ghost cheese
I am sorry but with all due respect, that is the most hopelessly tasteless
soup ever. Since when is salt considered a seasoning? Perhaps an onion. or
a clove of garlic, or a shallot, how about some pepper? I also omit
proteins from my my vegetable based soups but this recipe omits everything
but the water. Even a potato would be nice. Anyhow, you might as well just
eat the broccoli as is, its not even worth the trouble to clean the blender
Im making this today. I was looking for a recipe that doesn’t have broth in
it or a ton of butter or flour. I might add a little cream to it but that’s
all I’m putting in. You don’t need to use broth or butter because this is
Delicious in its simplicity. Just broccoli. Broccoli is Delicious on its
own raw. Why would you put all the extra calories and sodium in it?
i made a cheddar broccoli soup the other day, its good to know this is
possible if you dont have the milk cream ingredients..
“Ah wanna make broccoli soup but I don’t want to taste the broccoli. Better
add a bunch of bullshit” ~ nearly all the comments,
This is now my go-to broccoli soup. All these commenters that added cream
or chicken stock, etc. – are missing the point. With just the broccoli and
water (plus S&P), you get to taste pure, wonderful broccoli (if you start
with great ingredients). When done right, it tastes better and brighter
than any other method; plus it’s so quick and simple. My only change is to
use dry roasted pumpkin seeds instead of walnuts (my husband likes them
better).
To any nay-sayers- try it. Often we forget how much nature gives us. I’m no
hippy, but something about this is inspirational in its own rite. Broccoli
tastes good- period. Puree and it’s a soup. It’s as simple as that.
I made this last night. Tastes like ass. I wound up tossing the whole pot.
If Ramsay presented this soup to me I would punch the soup and tell him to
GTFO
OK, a couple of things here- this is fantastic, but there are a couple of
improvements. A dash of lemon juice really helps “wake up” the broccoli
flavor, so there is ONE extra ingredient that this can use. Also- if
you’re not into wasting food, use the broccoli stems! The stems should be
peeled and sliced into about 1/4″ thick disks, then toss all the stems into
the water right when you put it on to boil, so they get cooked longer than
the florets. Not big adjustments, just small :)
Gordon could turn a cup of dirt into something tasty and delicious, I’m
sure.
Almost made it to the end without him using olive oil. Almost.
Heres a tip, when you want to freeze soup, add a 2 1/2 tbsp of vinegar to
the soup and mix well. This is because when we freeze the food, it tends to
mature, the vinegar acts like a preservative but its natural. You may be
wondering will it affect the flavour? No it wont, because it will difuse. I
always do that ..hope this helps :)
I made this soup today and it was AWESOME… I love garlic so after tasting
it I added a clove of roasted garlic… DELISH!! I ate a whole pound of
broccoli and didn’t realize it!
I thought the ghost cheese was a very nice touch! Go Ramsay for suggesting
it!
Guys he is saying Ash Roll Goat Cheese…. not Ghost Cheese lmao
“Bless them”
I am not impressed. There are waaay better recipes and not to forget nore
appetizing.
100 times better than I expected. Broccoli is on sale at qfc this week. I’m
going to buy 5 pounds more to make this soup for lunch.
