Recipe ingredients and directions:
10 large crispy apples
1/2 cup cooking oil
1 cup milk
1/2 – 1 cup sugar
1 1/2 lb glutinous rice flour
4 eggs
1 can condensed sweetened milk
1/2 cup Chinese New Year Style winter melon candy stick, chopped
dried fruit (optional)
Water
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Peel the apple and cut into small pieces, put them into a deep
shallow pot, add the cinnamon and brown sugar into the pot. Using
low heat and cook the apple. Stir constantly until the apple becomes
sort of lumpy (apple pie filling like). Turn off the heat.
In a large bowl beat the egg, then add in the oil, sugar, condensed
milk, and winter melon candy pieces. One at a time add the following:
milk and the gluttonous rice flour. Mix with a wooden spoon. Pour
onto either a wax or parchment paper lined pie pan . Smooth the
top.
Garnish with the dried fruit (personally you can skip this dried
fruit thing). Put it into a pot or steamer and steam for around
45 minutes. Once the cake is done, cool and refrigerate.
Then use any type of the fry batter (or using Chinese style bread
crumb flour), fry the pieces. Eat while hot.
