I’ve made this oh jeeez…maybe 6 times… comes out FABULOUS…. I LOVE
YOU CHEF JOHN 🙂 xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo Dawn
I’m making this tomorrow, except I will use a little vanilla extract and
I’m making mine in the pressure cooker to get more sauce. yours is
probably really great, but it looks dry. water in the pressure cooker,
with part sugar and part honey will do. thanks for sharing! smile
I tried to make it and as soon as I put the apples in and tried to stir it,
my entire caramel mixture turned hard and completely solidified and turned
into accidental apply candy. 🙁
looks nice
ill have to try this because my aunt makes the best apple betty ever so it
will tough to convert me
OMG gonna go to the grocery store right now!
I just made this now. Yum in my tum
This Apple Crisp is delicious, not overly sweet. The topping is my new go
to crumble topping.
This turned out amazing. I made 2 batches, one made this way (Except for
the store didn’t have grape nuts, so I substituted granola and chopped
pecans) and a batch of peach crisp made with the raw fruit/cold butter
method. This allowed for empirical testing. The pre-cooking of the apples
in the sauce is genius, it makes the consistency perfect. I added too much
water, and it didn’t matter, it just made it necessary to cook the apples
and sauce a bit longer. Chef John never disappoints!
“You’re gonna definitely wanna let this cool a little bit. I mean, that’s
really between you and the first two or three layers of skin on the roof of
your mouth.”
omg that looks sooo delicious i am definetly going to try this!
I like the crisp but cooking the apples I’m not gonna do. I think apples
are very good raw so why not just let the baking of the crisp soften the
apples and get them tart and sweet?
I use grape nuts in smoothies XD Adds some fiber and protein.
Oh my gosh, this looks amazing. I’m making it tonight
I fucks with this
love grape nuts. eat it with some fruit and warm milk. i grew up eating
that. thanks for making this with a twist.
Why no ol’ tappa-tappa ?!?
I made it, it was delicious, just a comment, it was way too sweet, so I
will recommend less sugar.
3:50 Homer J. Simpson. The J. stands for John ;D
3:47 Even his accidents are good!
