Welcome to Italy! As promised, we were able to shoot few recipes during our Italian holiday 🙂 We are in Ospedaletti, in a region called Liguria, northern Italy, next to the French border. My family has a beach apartment there and I’ve been going there since I was born. Almost every summer of my life has a memory of Ospedaletti, that’s why I really wanted Luca to start having his first “beach” memories there too!
The green warm sea and lovely weather are not the only beautiful things in Ospedaletti…let’s talk about food 🙂
I’m going to share with you a very traditional recipe from Liguria: pasta with homemade pesto.
Today at the local farmers’ market everything was sooooo inviting that it was difficult to choose from. The basil won. I could smell its fragrance from far away..and so many varieties!!
This is a super duper yummy recipe for your kids and for the whole family!
It’s good for babies too! I would say starting from 7 months. Just few comments. For babies choose a small shape baby pasta (pastina). You can also choose not to use garlic and pine nuts if you are afraid of allergies, even if, in my personal experience with Luca, I didn’t have any problems with them.
Enjoy and see you next week with another recipe from Italy!!
ciao

Hi Barbara, sounds even more yummy!! But for today, I’m gonna make some of
your beautiful meat loaves, they were such a big hit the last time I made
them!! And then I’ll try and get to the farmers market tomorrow to see if I
can get some basil!! Talk soon, Marjon xox
Hi Barbara! So happy for you that you are all having such a great time,
lovely to see some of the pictures of your adventures in Italy! I have to
try this recipe soon, my family loves pasta and garlic! I’ve never used or
made pesto, but now I know how and I know someone on the farmers market
that sells a lot of herbs, I will see them on Saturday and find some basil
🙂 Talk soon, Marjon xox
