Watch how we make chicken teriyaki in under an hour and without a grill. We first make teriyaki sauce, with plenty of fresh ginger and garlic, and just a touch of red pepper flakes to give it enough heat. Then pour the sauce over the chicken and bake it right in the oven.

  2. PunkieTheGreat

I made this and OMFG, never buying store bought teriyaki sauce again. :3

I like recipe and would like to try it out tomorrow. However, in my family
we are not fans of soy sauce. I wonder what I could replace it with? Do
you have any suggestions? Maybe mustard, or some hone?, in order to make
    it light and juicy.
I’d appreciate your feedback! Thank you!

  5. TheTommyKay

Surprised by the number of people asking for a Mirin substitute.

If you need a substitute because you can’t find Mirin use dry white wine.

If you need a substitute because you can’t/won’t drink use white
vinegar/rice vinegar with an additional teaspoon of sugar.

If you need a substitute because you think you or your children will
actually get tipsy off the amount that’s in this recipe … stop that. :I

i felt so raced out watching this video because of the song . and i aint
    chinese though ._.

  8. Thraxzan

Just a warning, if you use Bragg’s instead of the low sodium soy sauce, cut
down the amount some. It turned out way to salty.

  9. notinternettype

It’s just lazy or stupid to put Chinese music over this obviously Japanese
recipe! It’s like an Asian chef making a pulled pork sandwich and saying I
    call this the “TEXAN”!!!

Could I line the bottom of the glass pan with aluminum foil and grease it,
then bake the chicken? If I did, would I have to adjust the timing by a
bit? If so, then how long would it take? Sorry for asking a lot:)

  18. MAPRTX

be nice if background music was a little softer

  19. MsPassion27

There was liquid roasting at the bottom of the pan which made the teriyaki
sauce watery. Also the teriyaki sauce did not stick to the chicken at all .

What could you use to cut down the amount of sugar but still keep it sweet?
    And not artificial sweetener.

  24. Dolly Perry

What would you substitute for the Mirin (Sp)? I don’t drink :)
