Buttercream FROSTING RECIPE – Perfect for Decorating Cakes & Cupcakes

Better than ANY other frosting recipes I’ve tried this recipe is delicious, foolproof and easy! Plus storage, coloring and flavoring hints and tips.

Perfectly Pipeable for all your Cake, Cupcake and Decorating needs, this has been my go-to frosting recipe for over 10 years!

Heres the recipe quantities & conversions:

250g softened butter (8.8oz / 2.5 sticks)
600g / 21oz powdered sugar, sifted (this is around 5 cups if measured prior to sifting)
1 tsp vanilla (or your desired flavouring essence)
1-2tbsp whole milk

    With the icing sugar do u sift it and then measure it or measure it and
    then sift it?

    I made it yesterday and it still turned out a bit grainy. I used sifted
    powdered sugar, really soft butter and followed the recipe. I tried to add
    some milk but after a while it didn’t seem to help anymore. Do you have any
    idea where it went wrong/ what I can do to make it better?
