Called “the coal miner’s pasta” for its hearty taste and signature use of black pepper flakes, pasta carbonara is a staple in an Italian food lover’s arsenal. But who does it best? Today on Recipe Wars, our chefs Adrian Bustamante and B.C. Hoffman pit two recipes against each other to see which makes a better pasta. On the one hand, we’ve got Mario Batali’s version, on the other, Anne Burrell’s, his old sous chef. Will the student become the master, or will Batali win out? Tune in to find out.

About Recipe Wars:
Each week on Recipe Wars, we our expert chefs recreate famous versions of a signature dish from around the world. Can the camera man show them cook the food closer and also more shots of
it. By the end of the video I forgot how they even cooked it. Thanks!
Oh, and beat the fucking eggs to a froth first.
I’m Roman and… what the hell guys?…
This is a joke, right? These two Food Network educated morons wouldn’t make
it in a professional kitchen let alone an Applebees. Though I like the
Carbonara history which was almost taken word for word from Wikipedia.
Noobs
I think I’ll do Anne’s recipe and add in Mario’s egg yolk and extra
Parmesan. Combine what you love about both recipes. No one said you
couldn’t, right?
I have made Anne’s version and OMG is it excellent. It’s so rich and
creamy. Just make sure you stir the hell out of it when adding the eggs so
you don’t scramble them.
Don’t know about anyone else but +Mario Batali Carbonara style is looking
mighty fine!
As American you must know the history of carbonara
They’re hot
Looks good but you guys need to know how to EAT pasta!!!!
