Recipe here: http://www.joyofbaking.com/AppleCrisp.html Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make an Apple Crisp. Apple crisp belongs to a long line of simple baked desserts that combine fresh fruit with a topping. Cobblers, Crumbles, Grunts, Brown Bettys, Pandowdies, and Crisps may be called old-fashioned and homey but having a dessert of warm baked fruit topped with a tasty crust is hard to resist. Unlike a cobbler that uses a biscuit dough topping, this Apple Crisp uses a streusel-like mixture of flour, white and brown sugars, ground cinnamon, and butter, along with rolled oats and nuts.

Hi Stephanie, I love your recipes and I have often baking… With this
Apple Crisp, I can’t imagine how much apple is need as you say 6 cups ( or
1.2 L). So how can I convert into pound/lb ?
Hi Stephanie,
Can I replace more flour with rolled oats instead? If can, what’s the
maximum amount I can replace the flour with?
I find it easier to melt the butter before adding. This way it’s easy to
do by hand. Also, I add some cornflour to the apple mixture before baking
to thicken the juices. There are so many different crisp, crumble and
brown betty recipes out there. Apparently some people call this a brown
betty, but I understood those to be made with breadcrumbs.
Stephanie, can I do the crumbs by hand? I don’t have a food processer…
Thank you for your recipes. Your explanations are excellent.

And a year later… My stomach feels nausea and my whole body feeling weak,
so once again, I made this crisp. Still comforting and one bowl I’m going

the crisp this year tastes better than last year’s one, so I guess my
baking skill gets better hehe thanks to you)
