Um I’ve always hard boiled an egg perfectly in boiling water for 12 minutes
from the moment the water boils. I tried doing it your way and I ended up
with a soft boiled egg. So wtf? The rest of the video was informative
    though.

Your not supposed to boil your eggs for 10 minutes only 8 minutes so your
    doing all wrong not us.

I starting with cold water, then I boil them for 2 minutes and then I cover
the pot with a lid and living it to rest for 10 minutes. Then i pour hot
water out and cover eggs with cold water for a few minutes. The result is –
perfectly boiled eggs plus lower energy bill, lol.

    No, YOU’RE doing it wrong.

You don’t BOIL eggs. You simmer them. Boiling them is what attributes to
making the sulphury taste in the eggs – you get them way too hot, the
sulphur reacts with the iron in the egg and makes the sulphur oxide ((the
    green around the yolks)).

Eggs should be simmered at low temperatures with short cooking times.

Here are three really good methods for simmering eggs.

    METHOD 1
Start with room temperature eggs, then place them in boiling water that is
then turned down to a simmer. Then, you allow the eggs to simmer 3-4
minutes for soft-cooked, 5-7 for medium cooked, or 12-13 for hard cooked.

Drain, place into cold water, peel crack and consume.

    METHOD 2

Place eggs in saucepan, cover with cold water. Bring water to a boil, then
reduce heat and simmer for the required time: 1 minute for soft-cooked, 3-5
for medium, and 8-9 for hard.

    METHOD 3
    ***ONLY HARD COOKED EGGS***

Place eggs in saucepan, cover with cold water. Bring to a boil and
immediately remove from heat, and allow to sit off heat for 20 minutes.
The eggs cook as the water temperature lowers.

Eggs should NEVER be boiled for an extended period of time. You’re doing it
    wrong!

wow chow, just ruined a half dozen eggs using the bit of water… bad call

  13. Suttikeeree Dead Noise

Using sewing thread is also a great way to cut the egg in half. Makes an
    ultra clean cut!!

another tip for making deviled eggs– do not use fresh eggs that you just
bought. Use eggs you’ve had for a week or so. Eggs that are too fresh do
not peel easily and you end up with ripped up egg whites which is not what
    you want

But the other CHOW bitch said to bring to a boil then turn it down to
simmer for 10 mins. Which bitch do I listen to?
