Hello everyone! This is our new video, which is about preparing Tortillas.
INGREDIENTS (US):
1 cup all-purpose flour, strong (bread) flour works too
½ cup wholewheat flour, sifted and then measured
1¼ tsp baking powder
½ cup water
1½ tsp beetroot powder (optional – for red coloured tortillas)
1 tbsp spinach powder (optional – for green coloured tortillas)
When measuring ingredients, make sure that all the measurements are level. This means discarding the ingredients that rise above the rim of the measuring cup, tsp, tbsp etc. The back of a straight knife works perfectly for this.

Finally someone else that puts ingredients by their weight 🙂 I always
convert a recipe into grams so I can use my scale and get the same results
each and every time…not to mention not having to dirty as many dishes.
I have a large standalone skillet with its own plug and temperature dial.
Do you recommend that or just using a pan on the stove to cook these? Also,
what is the temperature to cook these at? I’ve made tortillas in the past,
but they were never flexible after I cooked them. So either I’m not getting
them thin enough or I am cooking them too much.
Keep up the great videos…thanks!
I love your accent, and i could listen to you talk all day.
I will definitely make this! It’s been a long time since the last time I
made tortillas. I have a question. What does the baking powder do in this
recipe?
Wonderful! My favorite food is Italian, but my second favorite is Mexican
food! I love tortillas and making vegan burritos, rice, beans, corn,
cilantro and a little diced avocado. Yum!!!
I’m going to try to make these Tortillas, I’m hoping to turn out like
yours. Everything you make looks amazing and prefect.
Thank you, this is EXACTLY what I was looking for tonight! I was shopping
earlier for tortillas and could not find any that had no or low salt so
delighted to see your easy recipe for them without added salt. Can’t wait
to try some :-)
Wonderful! Thank you 🙂 looking forward to trying this. I always struggle
with dough but you explained it really well
Thanks for reminding me about this great recipe, l stopped making them a
while ago, and don’t even know why… now l know what my family will get
for dinner tonite, burritos :)
..and also this recipe turned out amazing.. 🙂 . Made them yesterday for
dinner, in 10 min!! delicious. have a good day!
Traditional tortillas are made with either wheat or corn flour. You should
try the corn variety sometime, too.
This is great! I will love you even more if you can do a corn tortilla
version, that way I can make 100% from scratch tortilla chips! Currently I
buy corn tortillas from the store then cut them into triangles.
Great recipe, next up – a vegan quesadillas recipe :)
This is the best cooking channel I know! I have a question; how many days
do these last in the fridge? I’m planning to make a medium sized batch, to
keep them in the fridge and grab them as I need them.
Great recipe!
i like this channel alot, also you have a nice voice :)
I like your vegan dish recipes. Do you have any complete meal plans for
when a vegan is short on time?
@thevegancorner so how many tortillas will come out from the recipe? Xx
