Recipe ingredients and directions:
Yield: 6 to 8 servings
2 strips bacon, diced
1 small onion, diced
2 jars (18 ounces each) baked beans
1/2 cup root beer (do not use diet)
1/4 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
Several drops hot pepper sauce
Freshly ground pepper to taste
Cook bacon with onion in a medium saucepan until bacon is brown
and crisp.
Add remaining ingredients. Heat to a boil; reduce heat and simmer,
stirring often, until slightly thickened, 20 minutes.
