Pear Gratin

Food Ingredients:
cup Heavy Cream 1/4 cup Maple Syrup 1 tablespoon Sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons Lemon Juice 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla 4 Firm, Ripe Pears

Recipe preparation:
1 Preheat oven to 350F degrees. 2 Whisk together cream, maple syrup, sugar, lemon juice, and vanilla in a small bowl. Pare, halve, and core pears. Place pears, cut side down, on work surface. Slice thickly widthwise without cutting all the way through. 3 Place, cut side down, in spoke-fashion in 9-inch round quiche dish or 10-inch pie plate. Pour cream mixture over. 4 Bake, uncovered, in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until liquid is bubbly and pears are tender. Serve warm.
