You're terrific and fun to watch.  This really does sound like it would be the old-fashioned pie of my youth.  Thanks.

Do you think i can use your recipe to make a coconut custard pie by just adding the coconut- if so how much coconut flakes would you recommend?

Pie came out nice and high but had a eggy flavor. Maybe egg yolks should be used? 2eggs and 2 eggs yolks? Also, baking at 400F is too high. Use 350F for 50 minutes. At 400F within 15 minutes the pie was getting too brown on top. The pie has the right amount of sweetness. I used 1.5 tsp of vanilla extract. If you want a more rich flavor you can substitute some of the milk with half&half. Thank You for this recipe!

Thank you so much for the easy recipe!  I made one for the first time with 2% milk and it turned out great!   My neighbors loved it too!  Today I am using whole milk which I am sure will be even better!  :-)

Awesome I made it yummy. I did something a little different because I husband said egg custards taste too "eggy" so I added a pack of vanilla instant pudding in place of the vanilla flavoring. Yummy no complaints :-)
