Mashed Potato Doughnuts
Food Ingredients:
2 tablespoons shortening, melted 1 Egg 1/2 cup Milk 2 3/4 cups Flour 2 1/2 teaspoons Baking powder 1 teaspoon Salt 1 cup Sugar 1 cup Mashed potatoes
Recipe preparation:
1 Blend shortening, egg and milk. Mix flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. 2 Combine two mixtures with mashed potatoes and mix thoroughly. Roll on lightly floured pastry cloth or board and cut with floured doughnut cutter. 3 Fry in deep shortening heated to 365 degrees (or when a one inch cube of bread browns in 60 seconds) 3-5 minutes. Drain on absorbent paper. Dip in powdered sugar.
