    Thank you for your question. The milk is absorbed by the bread, and makes the meatloaf more tender. If you prefer to use ketchup, we'd recommend using 1/4 cup of ketchup and 1/4 cup of water. Enjoy!

    Sure thing, Marilyn! You can certainly remove the green bell pepper. If you are not allergic to other sweet bell peppers (orange, yellow, red), we'd recommend using them instead. Enjoy!

    Panko bread crumbs are coarser than the traditional bread crumbs, and might not meld into the meatloaf as well. But they will still work as a binder in this recipe. Please let us know how the substitution works for you. Thank you!
