How To Make Perfect Waffles – LeGourmetTV

This is not the waffle house waffle recipe from that joint on the side of American highways! It’s Better!! Perfect for weekend mornings, and these can be frozen for later in the week too.

Ingredients:

2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups milk
8 tbsp melted butter
4 separated eggs

Method:

Combine flour, baking powder, salt, egg yolks, melted butter and milk; whisk together.
Beat egg whites to stiff peaks.
Whisk one third of egg whites into batter, then fold in second third. Once incorporated fold in the last of the whites.

Cook according to instructions for your waffle baker.

In the video I left out the butter… you don’t always need to use it. If you are worried about eating too much butter, you can cut it down or leave it out altogether. What you sacrifice is a bit of flavour, and if your waffle baker is non-stick (as most new ones are) they will cook just the same. – Le Gourmet TV is all about food, cooking, recipes, cocktails, and more.

I whip my egg white first ( I like to use my hand mixer for the whole thing) then I use the mixer to mix the batter and then put the egg whites in last step.  I used to make them all the time for my kids

Number of servings depends on your waffle maker. This one makes 4 waffles, and will serve 8 of my mothers friends, or 2 of my brothers…

I added a couple of tablespoons sugar, some vanilla, and a teaspoon of cinnamon.

Yes the batter will keep overnight in the fridge – or you can cook and then freeze the waffles.

  15. Ahmed Hesham

can i put it into the fridge and use it later ?

This recipe doesn't call for sugar – why would you 'have to' put in sugar? I mean you'll probably be putting maple syrup on top, that'll make it plenty sweet…
But if you want, you can throw in a spoonful or two.
