French toast is a very popular food at cha chaan tengs (fast food shops) in Hong Kong, traditionally they have a peanut butter filling and are served with golden syrup. But recently a dim sum place combined it with a popular dim sum (i.e. custard lava buns) and created this dish, the photos are all over Instagram and lots of people go there just to try their french toast!
