    Hi.. I had made these&they turned out nice.thanks a lot.just wanted ro
    clear-after adding the sugar&salt mixture&left for drying..the sugar
crystals stuck to the almonds (I was thinking the heat will dissolve the
sugar crystals! !) .is it supposed to be like that?? (Had used regular
    white granulated sugar)

Perhaps use butter instead of oil.

awesome Rita, i am looking at making a spicy bbq roasted almond batch. I
have some spicy salt that i think will come in handy!

The recipe at the end calls for mixing the sugar/salt mix coating for the
almonds in a separate bowl, not the pan in which the syrup and almonds were
cooked. Is one method preferred to another? I like the idea of using less
    dishes to clean!

I like to watch or read a recipe, and then follow it with intuition and
change things up. Your video inspired me to roast some nuts, and here is
what I did different. Vegetable Oil (Canola is not healthy) Honey Real
maple syrup Water Unrefined sugar Pink Himalayan salt Black pepper Cinnamon
Paprika I’ll let you know how it taste : )

Check out the Honey Roasted Almonds video at 1:55 and it walks you through
the mix. 1/4 C. Sugar and 1/2 t. salt. Hope you enjoy them.

Hi Rita, this looks like a great recipe but tell me, can olive oil be used
    in place of canola oil?

“I’m gonna put my nuts in and just cook those until theres no more syrup
    left” hahahahaha

Glad I found this, I’m going to try next time. My wife bought me the wrong
almonds (just roasted and salted) and I had an empty can with a lot of
honey roasted powder left over from another can. I just rinsed the almonds
to get the powder to stick, sprinked the old powder on them, then broiled
them for about 5 minutes. Came out pretty good but I think this will be
    much better 🙂

A-HA! I made some using an almost identical recipe, but they’re hella oily.
Turns out I used tablespoons of oil rather than teaspoons. Such is life.

i’m gonna try this recipe with brown sugar

  17. Seherzada Huseljic

And what about canola oil? I don’t have any… Can I simply use sunflower
    oil instead?

  18. Grant Unger

    um what?
