Recipe here: http://www.joyofbaking.com/breakfast/EggsAndHamPie.html Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make a Ham and Egg Pie. A friend was kind enough to give me this recipe more than 25 years ago and it’s still a family favorite. It’s a savory pie with a beautiful golden brown crust and inside slices of ham are layered with eggs, chopped green onions, grated parmesan cheese and lightly spiced with crushed red pepper, along with salt and pepper. While we love to have it for breakfast, it also makes a nice weekday dinner served with a tossed green salad and fresh bread.

Honestly, that picture of the pie at the start of the video is enough to
make you melt. Looks SO good.
That pie would last at most 5 minutes in this household.

I noticed that you do not let the pastry rest before trimming the pie.
Usually this is done to avoid shrinkage.
Is it not necessary if so why. Is it because the pastry is frozen,? I make
my fresh so maybe there is a difference .

In our 294th Video Recipe Stephanie demonstrates how to make a Ham and Egg
Pie. Most of the time, I don’t give a lot of thought to what I eat for
breakfast. But when I have overnight guests or when I want something
special I often make this Ham and Egg Pie. It’s a savory pie with a
beautiful golden brown crust and inside slices of ham are layered with
eggs, chopped green onions, grated parmesan cheese and lightly spiced with
crushed red pepper, along with salt and pepper. While we love to have it
for breakfast, it also makes a nice weekday dinner served with a tossed
green salad and fresh bread. Let’s get baking!

I also add one chop onion into it. But it’s turn out soaky, maybe I should
make some holes to drain out moisture.
Anyway, it’s still taste great!!! Thanks for sharing Stephanie, you are my
    idol.

Hello, Stephanie, I’ve just subscribed to you while searching for a
madeleines recipe and came across this delicious looking pie. I must make
it, my mouth is watering! Thank you. :)

    Looks tasty…

I made this recipe this week and it was great. I used a deep dish pie pan
that was dark on the outside and a medium color on the inside. I baked it
about 6 minutes longer because I used a lot more cheese. The puff pastry
came out perfect. Another fine recipe from this site.

  21. Sarah Ainsworth

Oops Sorry is your dog called Baxter?

  22. Hazel Eyes

I NEED to bake it!!! It looks so delicious, but also so easy… my family
will freak out for that dish! 😀
