Ingredients: serves 4

12 slices white crusty thick bread
1/2 cup brown sugar
4 eggs
1 1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp mixed spice

Extra brown sugar, icing sugar, spice to serve (optional)
