It might be useful to note that the rice is cooked.

This certainly looks tasty, but it doesn't look particularly frugal to me. What do you calculate your cost per serving to be? Thanks-

for me, i didn't have chicken breast on hand but i threw in some frozen peas and broccoli. I only get cheese or meat when its on sale in my area

For those concerned on the price, you can use a less expensive piece of chicken i.e. chicken thighs. There will also be plenty of liquid to cook the rice, that's why the foil needs to be on there, to create steam from the water and milk that was added. Cheese cost for this would be less than $7.50, depending on what type of cheese you use, and if you buy a store brand or name brand. This is a big casserole, so it still makes the dish fairly inexpensive.

I'm going to try this tomorrow night, except, I'm going to add a bread crumb topping on the top. 🙂 Bon appetit!!!

I'm making this tonight… BUT… his mixture is pretty thick.. by the time I got everything mixed together, it's still pretty liquid… hopefully as the rice cooks, it will soak up a lot of that liquid… we'll see how it turns out…

I make this a little differently, I put the rice on the bottom of the dish, than the chicken on top of the rice, than I just pour the sauce on top and bake covered for 45 mins, than 15 mins uncovered for, and I skip the cheese, when its done you end up with a crispier layer of rice. Infact that's what's in my oven right now :)

I just tried making this with uncooked rice, (he should have said "cooked rice") and after an hour and 30 mins. In the oven, it is still runny!! :(

It looks good but he missed a step, he should have cut into it so we could see it . .

Mine was very bland , some of the rice was not done , but it was very easy. I would make it again but would add some spices. I used plain white rice , maybe some other type of rice.

Please people cook the rice and saute the chicken before putting it into the casserole I think it will taste a lot better to make sure both rice and chicken are cooked
