Paula Deen Makes Stuffing
Hey y’all!
To get ready for the holidays I called my soul sister Dora Charles to come cook some traditional Lady & Sons dressing (or “stuffing” as it’s often called). Whenever Dora is in the kitchen with me I know the food is gonna be delicious. Dora runs the kitchen at The Lady & Sons, and she wouldn’t dream of letting a dish go out unless it was perfect. She knows Southern dressing like the back of her hand, which is why asked her to make some with me this week.
Watch the video to see how we make Southern Cornbread Stuffing, step by step. And watch out for special tips on things not to do when making dressing. Hope you like the recipe, and that it helps make your Holiday just a bit more yummy!
Love and Best Dishes,
Paula
Instead of talking about what Paula said I want to comment on the recipe. It looked little watery to me but I did like the idea of adding the sage to the broth so the flavor disseminates evenly, good idea. I would probably add less broth though but that could just be my taste. I like to see the cubes of bread but I also like the egg binding the cubes together.
Paula, will you cater at my next bar mitzvah?
Oh yeah, I forgot to say this, my mama ALWAYS preached to us.. NEVER ever use sweet cornbread too!! You are right Paula!!!
My southern family makes it slightly different, two pans cornbread, 1/2 sleeve of crackers and we also add cut up chicken and 4 or 5 diced hard boiled eggs. Makes no difference if it is a little too moist, you can cook off on low heat then stir it a few times and then turn up heat to brown it. Great job ladies! Love Paula Dean and her cooking shows!

Food network is a corporation with no heart. But, guess what Paula has her own network now and is calling the shots. She is one of my favorites and I am a black woman. So she said what she said, we have heard worst. And we know she is not a racist.
I miss you Paula!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best southern stuffing recipes going! We have enjoyed it in our family for years! Love you Paula and Dora!
Best of Christmas wishes and a healthy, happy and prosperous 2015!
once again, she stands right beside a black women who helped her get rich & then turns right around and disrespects the black race, hope u made enough money cooking black food
Southern dressing looks a little soupy to me.
its really good
i dont like stuffing that is like a jello.. i guess thats why they call it "dressing" ? i like my stuffing more dry? its still gotta be moist but not like a jelatin
I agree
Really like your recipes Paula but I disagree sweet corn bread does not ruin the dressing
I'm sorry but I still like Paula Deen! and yes I am black. Everyone can make a dumb mistake that doesn't make you a bigot or a racist.
Stuffing should not be watery. .eeewwwww
I saw this video and DIDNT even want to scroll down to the comments, because I was afraid of all the hate people would throw at Mrs. Deen. I am very pleased to read everyone's kind remarks. We all make mistakes, to err is human!
