Greetings! Continuing on with our 4th of July suggestions, today I am sharing with you how I make delicious oven fried chicken drumsticks for a crowd! This is the perfect take along or addition to your celebration menu. They are easy to fix, super cheap and everyone loves a chicken leg right?
My mom always made oven fried chicken, because she was seriously allergic to deep frying anything. I don’t mind deep frying so much, but I must admit, I don’t like frying chicken one bit, especially when you are talking about whole cut up chickens, fried the proper way. That can take a very long time when you are talking about serving a bunch of people! This is the real answer! You get the satisfaction and crunch of true fried chicken without all the work.
These drumsticks are great right out of the oven, warm or at room temperature or cold from the fridge. The coating is crispy and the butter gives them a wonderful flavor. My mom used to make big pans of legs and thighs for barbecues as an additional offering aside from the burgers and dogs.
I hope you give these drumsticks a try anytime you want fried chicken without all the work!
I hope you try it and I hope you love it!
Happy Eating!

at :33 I was about to start doing my little dance lol!! missed the song but
anyway great video as always Noreen :)
Made this for the 4th and, unfortunately, it was a total fail. The breading
didn’t stay on and they never crisped up…even after 45 minutes at 350. We
had to jack up the temp to 400. It’s a new oven (2 months) and we always
use an oven thermometer so I know the temp was accurate.
On the up side, out of the many, many, many recipes I’ve made from your
channel, this was the ONLY one that didn’t work. :(
Looks delicious!
Loved this, Noreen! Especially the Tupperware mix idea. Looks a lot neater,
I will be doing this next time I make Oven Fried Dum-Dums, thanks! Oh btw,
my girl friend and I use ‘Dum-Dums’ as our pet name for this dish, lol.
Also, as an edit here, for those saying it did not work to well for them. I
think they need to be sure the rinsed chicken is dry. And I would add a
beaten egg to the melted butter mix. I think it helps make the bread crumb
coating stick to the chicken better, to get that nice crispiness.
Thumbs up for Rick getting more “real” fried chicken per year!!! LOL
Yea, missed the music. LOL! Chicken looks delicious :)
Can’t wait to try this. May I say, I love it when you tell negative people
off. It’s awesome! Have a good evening! Your biggest fan, Gail from Alabama
🙂
That looks deeeelish, and I am sure the camerahub and family made up for
the fact that chicken legs aren’t your fave….I cannot imagine there was
much by way of leftovers!!! 🙂 Keep up the great work, and here’s me
pestering you for that bean recipe that you use to make refried
beans……..THANX OODLES!!! Della :-)
BIG FAN NOREENS Kitchen Easy recipes.
Oh Wow!!! This chicken looks delish… I can’t wait to whip this dish up.
I’m sure my grandkids will love them!!! Great vid, Noreen. :-)
Noreen you are a God send angel!!! I really love all your tips & videos!
Especially I’m a beginner cook but your fast & easy recipes makes it not so
hard & scary! I have made the beef Stroganoff & my 4 yr old doesn’t like
vegetables at all but that so easy, so good sauce. He licked his plate
clean! I was surprised & happy at the same time! I also really love that
you shop at Walmart & shop for every day normal items. Like who has time to
get extinct ingredients at high end grocery stores! I understand for a
special occasion, yes but every day, no. And to the people who has to
negatively comments about you or the food, PISS OFF!!! This is America &
everybody entitle to their own opinion to be kept to themselves. It is our
right as Americans to have freedom to how we want to run our homes & lives!
If they don’t like, don’t even watch her videos because they just sound
miserable! Noreen’s cooking reminds me of my grandmothers. Back then food
was simple & good! It shouldn’t be complicated! No fat. No salt. No flavor.
So Noreen, keep doing what your doing & I will support you by replicating
your delicious recipes!!! Much love!!!!!!
Your fried chicken looks great and i am not a fan of legs either, but i
sure am craving them now ! Glad the storm passed you by! happy 4th!
Oven Fried Chicken all the taste without all the work! Perfect for the 4th!
Enjoy!
I’ve done baked fried chicken before and the only thing is I miss the
crunch of fried chicken, but I have never been able, yet, to master fried
chicken. There is some kind of art to making it so I get what you mean
about doing it. “Have a safe and Happy 4th of July y’all and glad Arthur
has passed us by! Hope y’all weren’t affected to bad. Here in Fayetteville
we got some rain and wind and thunder.
Your arms
I always bake my “fried” chicken because I am terrible at frying anything!
I use a big bag because I was raised watching my mother use Shake N Bake
(blech!) and it always came with a bag (oh, “and I helped”! Do you
remember that commercial?). LOL. Going to my freezer now to thaw out some
drums and thighs — thanks for reminding me to make this!
